Can someone please clarify what direction this community will be taking in the future?
Personally I would love to see some web development related topics. Although I am sure Python is something I will need to use at some point. I can foresee this site taking up alot of my time!

Could someone start a course on 101 php. i would also like to have a similar course on ruby on rails as well. Frankly i am not sure which one i should learn first. i want to build a prototype site, let us say, i want to build kiva.com from scratch, how would i do the first prototype. i have installed apache, mysql, php, and ruby on rails, where do i go from there?

Both PHP and Ruby on Rails have separate communities which might be able to assist.

To further expand on this point; not only is this an extension but I hope to see it serve as base platform for further lessons that cover the material in different languages. Currently it is unix and python centric but it will expand over time to cover other platforms and languages while still serving as an introductory software design and build community.
